Three pro-Palestinian activists were arrested at a University of Michigan protest against a speech by former Israeli soldiers, amid ongoing Gaza conflict tensions.
Three pro-Palestinian activists were arrested Wednesday night outside the University of Michigan’s Rackham Graduate School during a protest against a speech by former Israeli soldiers.
Organized by the TAHRIR Coalition, the demonstration drew about 150 people who opposed the event amid the ongoing conflict in Gaza, which has caused over 67,000 reported deaths.
University police intervened, resulting in three arrests; one individual had a prior felony conviction and was sent to an unspecified agency, while the other two were taken to Washtenaw County Jail.
Protesters alleged police used force and threats, though officials confirmed no injuries.
The university has not issued a statement from its police chief, and the situation remains ongoing.
