The 19th annual Whaka 100 mountain bike marathon in Rotorua, New Zealand, drew over 3,500 riders from around the world for races ranging from 5km to 173km.
A tribute to Paul Gunn, a cyclist and mentor who died in July 2024, includes the newly launched Paul Gunn Scholarship, awarding $4,500 annually to two under-23 riders.
The event, held during Labour Weekend, features the Marathon MTB National Championships and includes participants from age three to 73.
