Southern University warns Beta Sigma Chapter members may face permanent expulsion over hazing allegations, following a cease-and-desist order.
The National Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity warned of possible permanent expulsion for members of its Beta Sigma Chapter at Southern University if hazing allegations are confirmed, following a cease-and-desist order from the university.
The fraternity’s Rapid Response Team is investigating, with any involved members—directly or indirectly—facing expulsion and urging maximum legal penalties.
This follows a recent investigation by the WAFB I-TEAM and comes after Omega Psi Phi was expelled from Southern in July over a hazing-related death.
Meanwhile, Indiana University placed its Phi Kappa Psi chapter on cease and desist effective October 21, 2025, over hazing, marking the second such sanction for the group since 2015.
The suspension halts all activities until further notice, and the university encourages anonymous reporting of hazing, which is illegal under state law.
