Paducah K9 Karo to receive a $1,800 bulletproof vest funded by a nonprofit, with delivery in 10 weeks.
The Paducah Police Department’s K9 Karo will receive a custom-fitted, NIJ-certified bullet- and stab-resistant vest funded by a donation from Vested Interest in K9s, Inc., with sponsorship from Thomas Infante of Cold Springs, Kentucky.
The vest, which will be embroidered with a personalized message, is expected within 10 weeks and is part of a nationwide effort by the nonprofit to provide over 6,225 vests valued at $6.9 million since 2009.
Each $1,800 vest comes with a five-year warranty and is available to active, certified K9s aged 20 months or older.
Donations are tax-deductible, and the organization welcomes support via its website or phone.
