Indian lawyer Pinky Anand appointed to Bahrain’s new international commercial court starting Nov. 5, 2025.
Senior advocate Pinky Anand has been appointed as a judge of Bahrain’s upcoming International Commercial Court, set to launch November 5, 2025.
The appointment, confirmed in Bahrain’s official gazette, places her on a 17-judge international panel, including seven women, drawn from various countries.
Anand, a former Additional Solicitor General of India and experienced arbitrator in India, Dubai, Malaysia, and Singapore, will continue practicing law in India while serving remotely or through periodic visits.
The court, modeled after Singapore’s, will handle cross-border commercial disputes in English and Arabic with appeal options to either the SICC’s international committee or a BICC appellate tribunal.
Indian officials praised the appointment as recognition of India’s growing role in global arbitration.
