Georgia Oates, 79, was found safe in Cheboygan after going missing from Eastpointe; her Jeep was spotted on I-75.

Georgia Oates, a 79-year-old Lapeer woman, was reported missing and endangered after leaving her son’s home in Eastpointe on Tuesday, October 21, and calling to say she was lost. Her black 2019 Jeep Cherokee was spotted on I-75 in Buena Vista Township at 6:24 a.m. Wednesday. Authorities located her safe in Cheboygan around 2:30 p.m. that day. She is unharmed, but the circumstances of her disappearance and travel are under investigation. Oates has short-term memory issues and was last seen wearing blue jeans, a tan jacket, and glasses.
