Former Ghanaian NAFCO CEO Hanan Abdul-Wahab and his wife are facing charges over alleged embezzlement of over GH¢78 million in public funds, with investigations revealing luxury property purchases and suspicious bank transactions linked to the stolen money. The Attorney General confirmed assets, including homes, a hotel, land, and a GHS10 million bank deposit, have been frozen. A forensic audit also revealed a GH¢2.2 billion loss in the National Service payroll scandal, a major increase from earlier estimates. Abdul-Wahab denies the allegations, calling them false, and says he will defend himself in court. Charges are set for October 24, 2025.
