Drew Brees and Larry Fitzgerald have advanced to the 52-player finalist pool for the 2026 Pro Football Hall of Fame, leading first-time nominees in their initial eligibility year.
Both are among six modern-era players selected from the original 128 nominees to move forward, with the full 50-member selection committee set to narrow the list to 25, then 15 finalists before voting at the Super Bowl in February.
Brees, second all-time in passing yards and touchdown passes, led the Saints to a Super Bowl victory and earned 13 Pro Bowl selections.
Fitzgerald, second all-time in receptions and receiving yards, played his entire 17-year career with the Cardinals and made nine 1,000-yard seasons.
Other finalists include Philip Rivers, Greg Olsen, Jason Witten, Frank Gore, LeSean McCoy, Maurkice Pouncey, and returning candidates like Luke Kuechly and Adam Vinatieri.
The 2026 class will include between four and eight new members, with three seniors, one coach, and one contributor also considered.
