Canadian customers affected by a 2021 Rogers network outage may get compensation through a class-action lawsuit.
Canadian consumers with active Rogers, Fido, or Chatr accounts on April 19, 2021, may be eligible for compensation from a class-action lawsuit authorized by the Superior Court of Quebec.
The lawsuit, filed by Lex Group Inc., stems from a nationwide network outage caused by a software issue that disrupted phone, text, and internet services for hours, affecting emergency communications and remote work.
Rogers issued a one-day service credit, but the lawsuit seeks additional damages, including partial refunds and potential compensatory, moral, or punitive damages.
All affected customers are automatically included unless they opt out by November 23, 2025, with no upfront legal fees—these would be paid from any awarded damages.
The case will be decided by a court in Montreal.
Los clientes canadienses afectados por una interrupción de la red de Rogers en 2021 pueden obtener una indemnización a través de una demanda colectiva.
