Apex files permits to explore rare earths in Nebraska, targeting clean energy and defense-critical minerals.
Apex Critical Metals has filed initial permits with Nebraska’s environmental agency to begin exploration at its Rift Project in southeastern Nebraska, a site within the historic Elk Creek Carbonatite Complex.
The 3,024-acre project, previously explored by Molycorp and Quantum Rare Earth Developments, showed high-grade rare earth element (REE) and niobium mineralization in past drilling.
Apex aims to verify and expand on those findings, emphasizing the project’s potential for REEs critical to clean energy and defense.
The company also completed a C$1.6 million flow-through private placement to fund exploration in British Columbia and granted stock options to employees.
All securities are subject to a four-month hold, and the company notes that nearby mineralization does not guarantee similar results.
