Ukraine deploys naval crews to UK and Türkiye under martial law to operate foreign ships, costing $3.2M.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has signed a law allowing Ukrainian military units to be deployed to Türkiye and the UK during martial law, enabling crews to operate naval vessels stationed abroad.
The move, approved by parliament, includes sending 106 personnel to Türkiye to crew the corvette "Hetman Ivan Mazepa" and 540 sailors and 20 officers to the UK to operate five mine countermeasures ships from Western allies.
