Twelve fishermen were rescued off Cork’s coast on October 22, 2025, after their trawler, Radoche Tercero, began taking on water. The crew abandoned ship and took to a life raft 53 nautical miles southwest of Dursey Head, prompting a coordinated Irish Coast Guard response involving a helicopter, fixed-wing aircraft, and multiple lifeboats. The crew were picked up by the Spanish-owned trawler Punteareas Uno and escorted to Castletownbere, arriving by 3:30 p.m. All 12 were safe and in good health with no medical needs. The Radoche Tercero remains afloat but is drifting near Dursey Head.
