Southeastern Grocers is rebranding as the Winn-Dixie Company and will exit Alabama, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi by early 2026, closing or transferring 32 Winn-Dixie and eight Harvey's Supermarkets stores.
The company will focus on about 130 grocery and 140 liquor stores in Florida and southern Georgia, including converting three former Hitchcock’s Markets in North Central Florida into Winn-Dixie locations.
Aldi is acquiring around 400 former Winn-Dixie and Harvey’s stores across the region, while Food City will take over some Alabama locations.
CEO Anthony Hucker will remain in his role, and the rebranding is part of a strategic shift to strengthen operations in core markets.
