Ras Al Khaimah launched the UAE’s first carbon capture and utilisation facility on October 22, 2025, marking a key step in the nation’s net-zero goals.
The plant, operated by Gulf Cryo and RAK Ceramics, captures CO2 from ceramics production and converts it into high-purity industrial gas.
This initiative supports the UAE’s 2050 net-zero target and aligns with federal climate laws requiring emissions reporting and decarbonization planning.
Abu Dhabi also introduced a carbon MRV program set to begin in 2026.
