Queensland nurses and midwives have accepted a $1.8 billion pay deal ending a 10-month dispute, with 83% voting in favor.
The agreement includes an 11% pay rise over three years, inflation protections, record double-time overtime, regional recruitment incentives, and safeguards for parental leave and flexible work.
It also bans privatization of health services.
The deal follows June’s first major industrial action in 23 years over a previous offer.
The agreement now goes to the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission for certification.
