Platinum Gaming fined £10M for failing to protect high-risk gamblers and prevent money laundering.
Platinum Gaming, operator of Unibet and uk.bingo.com, has been fined £10 million by the UK Gambling Commission for serious failures in anti-money laundering and social responsibility practices.
The regulator found the company failed to protect customers at risk, allowing significant losses—such as £5,000 in 24 hours and over £31,000 in nine months—without intervention, even when players repeatedly breached loss limits or gambled at high velocity.
A customer exceeded a £2,500 monthly limit in 16 minutes, yet received no support.
The company must undergo a third-party audit and improve oversight.
This follows prior fines of £2.9 million in 2023 and £1.6 million in 2019.
The Commission warned of further enforcement if improvements are not made.
