Michael Ladson sentenced to 30 years for shooting Charles Meeks in a Florida pool hall after a prior dispute.
Michael Alan Ladson, 36, was sentenced to 30 years in prison, including a 25-year mandatory minimum, for attempted second-degree murder after shooting Charles Meeks in the chest at Coasters, a pool hall in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, on March 26, 2022.
The attack followed a prior verbal dispute that led to Ladson being asked to leave the venue.
About an hour later, he returned, fired a gun at Meeks, and was immediately detained by security until police arrived.
The Okaloosa County jury convicted him on July 30, 2025, and the case was prosecuted by the State Attorney’s Office.
Meeks survived the shooting.
