Giuffre’s family demands UK review of 2016 police decision not to probe her claim that Prince Andrew assaulted her at 17.
Virginia Giuffre’s siblings and sister-in-law are urging the UK’s IOPC to review the Metropolitan Police’s 2016 decision not to investigate her allegations that Prince Andrew sexually assaulted her at 17, citing repeated dismissal by UK and US authorities.
They described the response as gaslighting and a major cover-up, questioning Andrew’s reported efforts to have his security officer investigate Giuffre.
The Met stated it lacked jurisdiction due to the alleged events occurring mostly outside the UK, a conclusion reaffirmed in 2019.
Co-author Amy Wallace said Giuffre would have seen Andrew’s voluntary relinquishment of his Duke of York title as a symbolic victory.
The case remains unresolved.
