Four Romanian firms fined 2.31 million RON for rigging road maintenance tenders.

Romania’s Competition Council fined four companies—Tredeco Holding, Trecon Logistic, Data Capture, and Geo Drumuri Banat—a total of 2.31 million RON (about €466,000) for colluding in public road maintenance tenders managed by CNAIR. The firms coordinated bids across four regional offices, sharing sensitive information and dividing contracts to manipulate outcomes, violating competition laws. The fines, which are final and enforceable, will be collected by the state and reflect the regulator’s push for transparency in public procurement.
