Former police chief Nick Adderley charged with fraud and misconduct over false military service claims.
Nick Adderley, 59, former chief constable of Northamptonshire Police, has been charged with fraud and misconduct in public office over allegations he falsely claimed military service, including serving in the Falklands War and holding a Royal Navy commission, despite serving only two years and being underage during the conflict.
Prosecutors allege he fabricated qualifications and medals on his CV and 2018 application for chief constable, with evidence deemed sufficient for trial.
He faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on November 10.
