Former Irish cop Shane Flanagan to plead guilty to leaking 14 people's data from police system.
Shane Flanagan, a former Irish police officer serving an eight-year prison sentence for inciting rape and other crimes, is set to plead guilty to 14 counts of unauthorised data disclosure from the Garda PULSE system between January and September 2020.
The charges involve the improper sharing of personal information belonging to 14 individuals, whose identities are protected by initials.
Flanagan, who was already imprisoned for impersonating a colleague online, encouraging sexual violence, and possessing child sexual abuse material, appeared in court from prison but the case was adjourned due to lack of legal representation.
Judge Francis Comerford granted legal aid and set a new hearing for Thursday, warning against further delays.
The case underscores serious breaches of data protection and police conduct.
