Eileen Dray-Bardon resigned as Columbiana County Park District chairman amid leadership concerns, effective October 14.

Eileen Dray-Bardon, chairman of the Columbiana County Park District since 2013, resigned effective immediately, citing concerns about her leadership style and stating the move was in the district’s best interest. She submitted her resignation on October 7 to Judge Tom Baronzzi, and the board accepted it on October 14. Tom Butch, former vice chairman, will serve as acting leader until January. The board plans to recommend new appointees by November 11. Dray-Bardon, a former director of the county’s Job and Family Services, focused on funding, trail expansion, and park maintenance. Ongoing repairs to three culverts on the Little Beaver Creek Greenway Trail are nearly complete, with a planned reopening by the end of the week. Current board members include Butch, Hughes, and Joe Lawhorn, appointed in July.
