A 25-year-old Dalit man in Madhya Pradesh was allegedly abducted, beaten, and forced to drink urine twice after refusing to drive for a former employer, police said.
The victim, Gyan Singh Jatav, was taken from Gwalior, assaulted with a pipe and iron rod, made to consume alcohol, and chained in Bhind before being hospitalized.
Three suspects, including his former employer, have been arrested and remanded.
The case is being prosecuted under the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act and the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The incident follows similar caste-based attacks in the state, highlighting ongoing concerns about violence against Dalit communities.
