USC opens new clinic in Orangeburg to cut Alzheimer’s wait times and boost early detection.
The University of South Carolina’s Brain Health Network has opened a new clinic in Orangeburg, South Carolina, in partnership with Hope Health to improve access to cognitive health care.
Located in a county with one of the highest Alzheimer’s rates in the U.S., the clinic aims to cut wait times for evaluations from months to four to five weeks.
It offers early detection services, including memory and language assessments, and employs specialists and community health workers to support timely diagnoses and care.
The facility is the seventh in the Midlands region and will expand services to the broader community by early 2026.
