Three women acquitted in Singapore for organizing an unpermitted pro-Palestinian march near the Istana in Feb. 2024.
A Singapore court acquitted three women on October 21, 2025, of organizing an unpermitted pro-Palestinian procession near the Istana in February 2024.
The group, about 70 people, walked to the presidential palace’s rear gate to deliver letters, using watermelon-patterned umbrellas symbolizing Palestine.
District Judge John Ng ruled the women did not know the route was restricted under the Public Order Act, citing no visible signage and prior public use of the area.
While the prosecution proved they organized the event, the court found they had an honest and reasonable belief the route was lawful.
The verdict, which drew cheers in court, may be appealed by the Attorney-General’s Chambers.
