A Chinese woman died in South Korea after a neighbor's reckless cockroach spray fire caused a deadly blaze.

A woman in her 30s, a Chinese national, died in Osan, South Korea, after a fire broke out when a neighbor tried to kill a cockroach with a lighter and flammable spray. The blaze spread quickly in a mixed-use building, blocking stairways with smoke. The woman attempted to escape through a window with her infant, who was passed to a neighbor. Her husband escaped safely, but she fell during the attempt and later died from injuries. Eight others were hospitalized for smoke inhalation. Authorities plan to charge the neighbor with accidental arson resulting in death.
