Seven Irish cops injured in three Oct. 17–19 attacks; force investigates and boosts support.
Seven Irish police officers were injured in three separate violent incidents in Dungarvan, County Waterford, from October 17 to 19, 2025. Three officers were assaulted during an arrest at a residence, one hospitalized; two others were attacked at a police station and remain off duty; and two more were injured responding to a disturbance on Sexton Street but stayed on duty. An Garda Síochána launched a full investigation, provided support to affected personnel, and reinforced local policing with neighboring units and the Regional Control Room. Chief Superintendent Anthony Pettit condemned the violence and reaffirmed commitment to officer welfare and public safety.
