Romania’s intelligence service thwarted a Russian-linked sabotage attempt targeting Nova Post’s Bucharest headquarters, where two Ukrainian nationals were intercepted trying to deliver remote-controlled incendiary devices disguised as electronics. The devices, containing thermite and barium nitrate, were defused by security forces. Authorities believe the suspects acted under Russian intelligence direction and were part of a broader European infrastructure targeting network. The incident follows a pattern seen in prior attacks. Meanwhile, prosecutors expanded the Nordis real estate investigation after 300 new complaints, with damages now estimated at €75 million. Romania also offered to host the EU Maritime Security Hub, and a Bucharest apartment explosion investigation continues, with no evidence of explosives found.
