A Pennsylvania funeral home, linked to a pet cremation scandal, sold for $950,000 to be converted into a health clinic.
A former funeral home in Natrona Heights, Pennsylvania, once owned by Patrick Vereb, has been sold for $950,000 to Dr.
Dawn Spale, who plans to convert it into a health clinic operated by Allegheny Health and Physical Medicine.
The sale follows criminal charges against Vereb for allegedly defrauding pet owners by failing to cremate animals and dumping remains in a landfill.
The clinic, which currently operates nearby, needs more space and better parking.
The property was listed for $1.2 million after Vereb’s charges were announced in spring 2025.
The Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office is investigating, but some victims and former employees say the probe’s 2021 start date excludes earlier allegations dating back to at least 2012.
Families continue to seek answers about their pets’ fates, and the clinic’s new owners finalized the purchase in August, with operations expected to begin in early November.
