Ola Electric founders face legal action over engineer’s suicide, amid allegations of harassment and unpaid dues.
Ola Electric founder Bhavish Aggarwal and executive Subrata Kumar Das face charges following the suicide of homologation engineer K. Aravind on September 28 in Bengaluru. An FIR was filed on October 6 based on Aravind's 28-page suicide note alleging mental harassment, unpaid dues, and excessive workload. Aravind's family questioned a ₹17.46 lakh transfer to his account postmortem. Ola Electric denies prior complaints from Aravind, claims he had no contact with top management, and asserts his dues were settled. The company challenged the FIR, receiving protective orders from the Karnataka High Court. Authorities are investigating under Sections 108 and 3(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Ola Electric states it is cooperating fully and is dedicated to maintaining a respectful workplace.
