North Augusta has secured a $1 million federal grant to repair storm damage from Hurricane Helene, with approval pending for an additional $1.3 million.
The funds, from the USDA’s Natural Resources Conservation Service, will restore seven sites in local water basins.
Work is complete on most of Willow Wick Creek, and crews have cleared debris near the River Club, where a pond had filled with storm waste.
Initial cleanup was funded by $42,000 from the city’s budget.
