The Lake District National Park Authority has approved a new gated car park for three holiday cottages near Keswick, converting a field into a gravelled site for five cars. The decision follows the March 2025 separation of the cottages from a farmhouse, ending shared parking access and prompting safety concerns over guests reversing onto a narrow lane. Located southeast of the farmhouse and partially screened by trees, the site aims to reduce unsafe parking, though some residents oppose it, arguing it will be an eyesore visible from scenic viewpoints and that existing parking has worked for over two decades. The approval comes after public consultation and multiple objections.
