Montreal’s REM light-rail expands Nov. 17, 2025, adding 14 stations ahead of full 2027 airport link.
Montreal’s Réseau express métropolitain (REM) light-rail network will add 14 new stations on November 17, 2025, expanding transit access across the city.
Service on existing lines will end at 9:30 p.m. that day to allow testing for a new segment set to open in spring 2026.
The full 67-kilometre system, expected to cost $9.4 billion, will eventually include 26 stations, with the final link to Montréal-Trudeau International Airport scheduled for completion in 2027.
The project aims to improve regional mobility and reduce traffic congestion.
