The McConnell Medical Centre in Cornwall, Ont., held an open house and barbecue on Oct. 19, 2025, to engage the community and fund a new sensory room for autistic children.
Dr. Di Cintio highlighted a growing shortage of family physicians, with 35% of residents currently without one, warning the number could rise to 65% due to retirements.
The centre plans to add six to eight doctors over the next few years, with one joining in January.
Services expanded include a reopened walk-in clinic, LifeLabs, Lovell Pharmacy, and Cornwall Radiology.
The event, supported by Fishing for Autism, featured health booths, children’s activities, live music, and a donation match up to $2,000.
