He played a central role in expanding Red Lobster to nearly 400 locations by 1985 and led Darden Restaurants—home to Olive Garden, LongHorn Steakhouse, and Ruth’s Chris Steak House—to over 2,100 locations and 200,000 employees by 2004.
A respected industry leader and philanthropist, he donated over $5 million to the Boys & Girls Club of Central Florida and served as president of the National Restaurant Association.
