GM’s Reuss regrets killing the CT6 and Bolt EV, citing weak demand and a shift to EVs by 2035.
GM President Mark Reuss has admitted regret over discontinuing the Cadillac CT6, calling it a questionable decision, especially as the model continues in China with a new generation.
The North American version ended in 2020, and while the Detroit/Hamtramck plant was retooled into Factory Zero for EV production, weak demand has led to hundreds of temporary layoffs.
Reuss also expressed regret over ending the Chevrolet Bolt EV and the pioneering EV1, though the Bolt nameplate is set to return in 2027 as a more affordable EV with improved range and charging.
Despite slower-than-expected EV adoption, GM remains committed to a fully electric lineup by 2035.
Reuss de GM lamenta haber matado al CT6 y al Bolt EV, citando una demanda débil y un cambio a los vehículos eléctricos para 2035.
