Ghana’s Parliament swore in two new Members of Parliament—Bernard Bediako Baidoo for Akwatia and Professor Alidu Seidu for Tamale Central—on October 21, 2025, completing its full complement of 276 members.
Baidoo, representing the NDC, won a September by-election following the death of Ernest Yaw Kumi, securing 18,199 votes.
Seidu, also NDC, was elected unopposed after the August death of Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed in a helicopter crash.
Speaker Alban Bagbin urged both to uphold their oaths, study parliamentary rules, and serve with integrity.
