The Ghana women’s national team, the Black Queens, have arrived in Egypt ahead of their 2026 WAFCON qualifiers against Egypt, with the first leg set for October 23 in Ismailia.
The squad, led by GFA’s Frederick Acheampong, includes late call-ups Abigail Appiah and Sarah Nyarko, replacing players who withdrew.
Team captain Portia Boakye emphasized the team’s determination to advance.
The Black Queens are also finalists for multiple 2025 CAF Awards, including Coach, Player, Young Player, Goalkeeper, and National Team of the Year, recognizing their bronze medal at the 2024 WAFCON and rising prominence in African football.
