A Georgia man was arrested in connection with firing shots at a North Carolina home and tearing down a pro-Trump banner.
Benjamin Michael Campbell, 37, of Atlanta, was arrested in Georgia and extradited to North Carolina on October 7 in connection with an incident on September 6 in the Nantahala Gorge, where he allegedly tore down a pro-Trump banner from a home and fired shots from his vehicle at the residence.
Witnesses and surveillance footage show he was speeding when he removed the banner and opened fire through his car’s sunroof, narrowly missing the homeowner, Mark Thomas, who fired warning shots.
Campbell faces multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon and discharging a firearm to incite fear.
No injuries were reported, and the case remains under investigation.
