Evoke has appointed Mark Summerfield as its new non-executive chair, succeeding Lord Jonathan Mendelsohn, who stepped down amid a leadership transition. Summerfield, a board member since 2019, takes over the role with deep institutional knowledge, while Anne de Kerckhove becomes permanent deputy chair. The changes come ahead of Evoke’s Q3 update, following a 3% revenue rise in H1 to £887.8 million. The company is also evaluating closures of up to 200 UK William Hill retail stores—about 15% of locations—due to expected tax increases in the November budget, potentially impacting up to 1,500 jobs.
