Brown County plans to move its campground to the Fox Riverfront by 2026 to enable year-round access and improve trail connectivity.
Brown County is advancing a $1 million plan to relocate camping facilities to the Fox Riverfront at the Brown County Fairgrounds, aiming to enable year-round access and support a continuous trail connecting Green Bay to De Pere.
The project, part of the 2026 capital budget, will be voted on next week, with construction expected to begin in 2026 after a winter bidding process.
The change will allow camping during large commercial events that currently require closure of the campground.
The initiative also includes building a new trail along the river’s west shore, enhancing recreation and connectivity for residents and visitors.
