Angela Face, 53, quit smoking after 40 years through Oxfordshire County Council’s Allen Carr’s Easway pilot program, which focuses on changing mindset rather than just managing physical addiction.
She began smoking at 13 during a family move and had tried multiple methods without success.
Inspired by her children and future grandchildren, she joined the program after seeing a Facebook ad.
The program helped her realize smoking controlled her life, and since quitting in September, she has felt healthier and even climbed Snowdon.
The council is evaluating the pilot and continues to offer free stop-smoking support through Smoke Free Oxon, including counseling and nicotine aids.
