A teen driver was seriously injured in a North Dakota crash Sunday after allegedly failing to yield while turning.
A 17-year-old driver was seriously injured Sunday evening in Benson County, North Dakota, after allegedly failing to yield while turning west from a driveway onto ND Highway 19.
The crash, which occurred around 5:07 p.m. near mile marker 123, involved a 2009 Chevrolet Suburban and an eastbound Peterbilt truck with a trailer.
The juvenile was wearing a seat belt and taken to Sanford Bismarck Medical Center.
The 23-year-old truck driver from Belvidere, South Dakota, was not injured and was not wearing a seat belt.
Both vehicles ended up in ditches on opposite sides of the road.
Weather and road conditions were clear.
The North Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating.
