King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Centre in Riyadh has performed the world’s first robotic intracranial tumor resection, using a 3D optical system and image-guided navigation to precisely remove a 4.5-centimeter brain tumor from a 68-year-old patient.
The one-hour procedure, led by Dr. Homoud Aldahash, allowed the patient to recover fully and be discharged within 24 hours, showcasing reduced trauma and improved safety.
