Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings has signed an eight-year deal with Repsol to supply renewable fuels to its ships in Barcelona, starting with biofuels in 2026 and expanding to green methanol from 2029.
The green methanol will come from Repsol’s new Ecoplanta facility in Tarragona, set to open in 2029 with an annual capacity of 240,000 metric tons.
The agreement supports efforts to cut maritime emissions and reflects growing industry moves toward cleaner fuels amid global decarbonization goals.
