A man was arrested for making 11 abusive 999 calls over three hours, disrupting emergency services.
A 35-year-old man from Widnes was arrested on October 19, 2025, after making repeated abusive 999 calls to Cheshire Police and the North West Ambulance Service over a three-hour period.
Police said he made 11 abusive calls after an initial non-emergency call was disconnected, continued calling despite his number being blocked, and attempted to reach police via ambulance services.
Officers found him shouting at ambulance staff at his home.
He remains in custody, cooperating with investigators.
Authorities warned that such calls waste emergency resources and are punishable by up to six months in prison or a fine.
