Indian trap shooter Zoravar Singh Sandhu won a historic bronze at the 2025 ISSF Shotgun World Championship in Athens, marking India’s first men’s trap medal at the event since 2006 and only the third in the country’s history.
His achievement fulfilled a personal bet by foreign coach Peter Wilson, a former Olympic gold medalist, who shaved his head in celebration.
Wilson, appointed by India’s National Rifle Association in March 2025, is leading efforts to strengthen the nation’s shotgun shooting program ahead of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
