Delhi Police deploys female constables, "Drone Didis," to use drones for crowd and traffic monitoring during festivals.
Delhi Police has launched a first-of-its-kind initiative deploying female constables, nicknamed "Drone Didis," to operate surveillance drones during the festive season.
Trained under the "Netra–Netrutva–Naari" program, these officers monitor high-traffic areas like Tilak Nagar, Rajouri Garden, Moti Nagar, and Kirti Nagar using real-time aerial footage to manage crowds, detect threats, and assist with traffic control.
Data from drones is relayed to control rooms for immediate response, improving public safety and showcasing women’s expanding role in tech-driven policing.
