China unveils new Omoda hybrid and PHEV SUVs, with potential 2026 Australian launch.
The next-generation Omoda 5 hybrid and Omoda 7 PHEV SUVs have been unveiled in China, with production set for 2026 and potential entry into the Australian market.
The Omoda 5 hybrid uses a series-parallel HEV system, delivering 165kW and 275Nm, with a 7.9-second 0-100km/h time and a claimed range over 1,000km.
The Omoda 7, larger than the 5, will use a PHEV system in China with a 1.5L turbo engine and up to 95km of electric range, featuring a rotating 15.6-inch infotainment screen and premium seats.
The Omoda 4, a rebranded version of the Omoda 3 concept, was also revealed.
All three models are under consideration for Australia, where the Omoda 5 may be badged under the Omoda name, while current Chery models remain under the Chery brand.
More details are expected ahead of the 2026 global rollout.
