Bucharest's District 4 mayor leads polls ahead of uncertain mayoral election, amid calls to delay due to cost concerns.
Daniel Băluță, mayor of Bucharest’s District 4 and a Social Democratic Party member, leads recent polling for the upcoming Bucharest mayoral election with 25% support, according to a CURS survey conducted October 8–17, 2025.
Cătălin Drulă and Ciprian Ciucu each trail at 18%.
The election date remains unannounced, though Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan plans to propose a date soon, possibly November 30 or December 7.
A majority of respondents (51%) favor postponing the vote to 2026 due to financial concerns.
The survey also shows widespread dissatisfaction with national and local leadership, with key priorities including traffic, heating, and living standards.
